Clemens and Bonds are effed.

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — A federal judge on Wednesday unsealed hundreds of pages of court documents at the heart of the government's criminal case against Barry Bonds, including positive drug tests that prosecutors linked to the home run king.

The documents also include a transcript of a taped conversation between Bonds' personal trainer and personal assistant discussing injecting the slugger, plus a list of current and former major leaguers, including Jason Giambi, who are scheduled to testify for the government at Bonds' upcoming trial.

The former San Francisco Giants is charged with lying to a grand jury when he said he never knowingly used performance-enhancing drugs. His trial is scheduled for next month.

Federal prosecutors allege that Bonds used steroids, including a once undetectable designer drug.

In the court documents, prosecutors say Bonds tested positive in 2000 and 2001 for the steroids methenelone and nandrolone. Prosecutors want to use those test results to show Bonds lied when he told a grand jury in December 2003 that he never knowingly used steroids.

In addition, a government-retained scientist said he found evidence that Bonds used the designer steroid THG upon retesting a urine sample Bonds supplied as part of baseball's anonymous survey drug testing in 2003.

I'm a little torn on this. On one hand, I'm pissed at the Government for using taxpayers dimes to chase down steriod using millionaire athletes. On the other hand, I'm like, this guy should abide by the law too. He's no better than we are. With Bonds, it's his arrogance that does nothing to ameliorate his situation. He has this swagger that screams, "I'm above the law." Well it appears that this time, he's sh*t in his nest. I'm glad that someone is trying to clean up the game. I find it sad that it takes the Government to manage a sport. The damage steroids has done to baseball won't be healed for years. In fact, it's almost reached the point where no one cares about baseball at all anymore. It's been obvious for years that there's been an overwhelming steroid problem sweeping every position in baseball and Bud Selig has turned a blind eye. I know that with steroids and HGH, you're always chasing the latest, most undetectable illegal agent, but suspending athletes, erasing all records, will certainly be a deterrent for these ego maniacs. One of the saddest parts of the Bonds saga is the fact that he would've been a first ballot HOF if he had never touched the stuff. Now, he's looked at as a tainted cheater. His records, like all other sluggers during this era, show massive spikes in production. They should all be erased.

Here is a chart exposing the slugging spike of Brady Anderson vs other players during the "era."

If this isn't proof enough that performance enhancing drugs improve performance, nothing will.

I hope he serves time in federal prison because that effeminate voice of his will be great foreplay in the yard before the showers.

Mr Yearwood, this is where I have to respectfully disagree with you. Bonds may be a locker room cancer, he may be a pompous ass, but in my mind he is not a cheat. Neither are any of the players in the steroid era. Steroids were not against the rules of baseball when these guys were juicing. How do we know everyone wasn't doing it. And look at it this way, how many pitchers were juicing? The only one we hear about is Clemens, so Bonds and Clemens get made out to be the villains of baseball because they happen to be the most dominant players of their. Personally, I thin kit is a joke. Then baseball gets to put an asterisk next to records, slander players, suspend players, black ball players for something they did in the past when it wasn't NOT ALLOWED. It happened right in front of them, and Bud Selig is the first to point his finger in blame. That is total bull shit. It is Selig's fault, and in my mind Selig's doing, and baseball's doing for not taking action. I am still on the fence on whether some of these guys actually used. Yeah, the players look bigger, and yeah, they probably took roids, but I bet the balls were juiced too. The fact remains that it was an era of baseball, and baseball has been reactive instead of proactive. The ones who suffer are he players. That is wrong. At the end of all of this, Selig will still be making his $17-$18M/year, siting in front of congress blaming players when he himself should be fired and be forced to repay the salary he took by allowing these players to do what they did. Ratings were supremely high, and that made Selig look good, so he let it happen.

So for me...

Bonds is the best hitter I have EVER seen, a pretty good fielder when he was younger, and one of the best if not the best baseball players to ever play the game. I feel he has been black balled by baseball. Stats are stats, and he is a first ballot hall of famer in my book. Bottom line, it was an era, and although they may have taken advantage of a situation that allowed them to be reckless, it was ALLOWED, so not cheating in my book.

Oh, and Clemens is first ballot as well.

They have to separate lying under oath from baseball. If they lied, and it can be proven that they lied, which I doubt, then they should be subject to same penalty as me.

As for baseball, 2 of the best ever at their positions, and NOTHING can change my mind about that.

Buffkin,
He is a cheat and so is everyone else in the roid era. They knew they were cheating. When the press asked Maguire about steroids he said, "it's andro." Buffkin to say they weren't cheating is wrong. They knew it. It might not have been illegal in baseball, but it's illegal acording to the United States Drug Laws. Youre using a cop out. In my post, btw, I said that steroids were being abused by every position in baseball. In fact, two of the last few players busted for positive tests were pithers. They players need an asterisk because the bad ass players in generations before and players in current generations didnt use and it was obvious...i.e. Ruth, Aaron, Gherig, Dimaggio, Williams, Cobb, Rose, Carew, Gwynn, Jackson, Griffey Jr, Ramirez, Jeter, the rest.....Juicers. AROD, Bonds, Maguire, Canseco, Anderson, Sheffield, Sosa, Clemens, Rocker, Palmeiro etc etc etc.....the list is so long. I agree with your assessment of Selig and youll see that in my post. Are guys really juicing...yes. If you cant see how bodies changed through that period then you have no idea how hard it is to beat genetics and grow bigger especially after 32-25 years old. You dont get 20 lbs of lean muscle at 36. It's not humanly possible. and yes....h wouldve been a 1st ballot HOF; however, when you cheat(and he did), you shouldnt be rewarded. To argue this is futile. I'll just say that stats show performance enhancement, cheating, etc etc.
